Facebook Post from Dec 14, 2010-My Views on Christmas

I have kept my mouth shut for as long as I can stand it. Everyone can loudly proclaim their beliefs, so I'm going to share mine. To be honest, when I see on your profiles, "Let's keep Christ in Christmas," It makes me want to vomit. No, I'm not against Christ... I'm against you associating Him with a pagan holiday!!!!! It's one thing to enjoy the holiday as a time for friends and family to get together. But when you rely on false information about the origin of Christmas, it makes my stomach churn. So here are the facts. CHRISTMAS IS NOT YESHUA'S/JESUS' BIRTHDAY! Do you know that it is a celebration of the Winter Solstice and that Dec 25th is the day they celebrated the birth of Tamuz, the sun god?! But because the early catholics wanted to convert the pagans, they accepted the pagan ritual of winter solstice and decided to christianize it and make it a mass (HENCE CHRIST-MAS) in order to get the pagans to convert. If you study you're history, you will discover that the Quakers did not celebrate Christmas, as they saw it as a hypocritical contamination of the Christian faith. It weakened Christianity when we called a Pagan holiday a Christian one and associated our King with some lowly god. I'm sorry but it makes me angry. It also makes me sick when you don't know your bible well enough to realize there were not 3 wise men... and they did not find baby Jesus asleep in a manger. By the time these astrologers (A whole bunch of them carrying Daniel's treasure to present to the King) reached Jesus, he was approximately 2 years old. Many scholars believe that He was born around September, during the Feast of Trumpets. (Google Jewish Holidays to learn more about this Feast).

My problem is not any person. My problem is that we accept the information we have been passed down from generation to generation and never question it. I understand that what I have said above may be offensive, and I do apologize for that. However, I have just as much right to express my beliefs as you do yours. I do my best to respect your beliefs and I hold my tongue as much as possible. To be honest, I really don't care if anyone reads this. I just had to vent because if I hold it in any longer, I just might explode. Okay, 'nuff said for the moment. Just please don't take anything for face value. Question everything and research it before accepting it as truth. Don't just believe something because that's what has been passed down. KNOW what you believe and why. That's all I ask.
