Honoring the Crown
Transformation from peasant to Princess requires us to give up our identity for a new one; one that honors the Crown. We must deny our present existence and learn our new identity. It requires that we change our etiquette, our clothin, our way of speaking, even how we walk and interact with others.
We must acknowledge that our crown can and will be stripped if we do not honor it.
A woman about to take the throne spends her time preparing for it.
"Being royal is nt like being famous or being rich; it is something much, much more. It is a way of being... It s an embodiment which requires you to sacrifice wo you are for who you must be." ~Queen Clarice, Prince & Me
As a caterpillar loses its identity as a worm to bcome a beatiful butterfly, so must a young woman of God lose her identity as a peasant to become a pure, spotless bride for the King. She must change her name from Commoner to Royalty. She must learn the protocol of the Kingdom. She must wash away the filth of a peasant, and bathe herself in the fragrance preferred by her King. She must adorn herself, nt for herself, but to please the King. She must not entertain other lovers, but have her sights set on the bedchamber of the King.
During my time away from FB, God was telling me about beauty queens and real queens, and how everything they do is done with the Crown in mind. They know they have to represent the crown in the best way possible. That means they have to have a correct posture, dress so as to please the king and be modest (actual queens); EVERYTHING they do is orchestrated by their title. The real queens know they have to represent the Kingdom.
I got to thinking about posture... The Prince & Me mentioned 'bad american posture' and it really struck a chord. Bad posture is comfortable, until it destroys one's body in the end. Then its effects are very uncomfortable. On the other hand, good posture is VERY uncomfortable after having bad posture. But after one gets accustomed to having good posture, it is no longer uncomfortable and the body does not suffer the effects of bad posture. Our heart's posture is very similar. Especially in America, we have bad posture. When we try to correct that posture, it will be very uncomfortable until our ways have changed and we get used to having correct (heart) postures.
In the book "God Chasers," I was reading about the difference between anointing and glory, and how we prostitute the anointing. Anointing is compared to perfume. When we are bathed in it, then everyone we pass takes notice. Men say, "My, don't you smell good." The book was talking about Hadassah... she spent a year of purification, bathing in the 'beauty baths' for her one night with the king. Ironically, the same oils they used for those baths were the ones that were used in the holy of holies by the priests. Anyway, The author was talking about how Hadassah smelled so good and every man she passed took notice of her. But she kept her focus and remembered that it was for the king. The author said that so many times we prostitute the anointing, letting men take notice of us and flirting on our way to the King's bedchamber that we never make it there.
So let's join together and remember we are Queen Consorts (look it up if you don't know what it means ;P) and we need to honor our Crowns.
