I look into your eyes
I see woundedness and shame
We are all responsible
Yet nobody accepts the blame
We lift up a war cry
then we turn and attack our own
The enemy stands laughin
at the ignorance we have shown
You look at me so empty
so afraid to show what you feel inside
You curse the God whose people hurt you
All you wanna do is run and hide
It's time we stop this attack
stop looking on in jealousy
When will we stop fighting each other
and repent in unity
I look into your eyes again
There's so much anger, so much shame
Let Him heal your fatal wounds
from the church...we are to blame
We repent for murdering you
with this sword we call a tongue
We repent and turn our hearts again
to the compassion of the Holy One.
